For more than three decades, Claude Giguère has helped define how the investment world measures and understands performance. As co-founder and president of Robust Technologies, he combines deep financial expertise with technical precision, building advanced analytics that power some of the industry’s most sophisticated institutions.
Claude’s leadership extends beyond Robust. He sits on the Advisory Board of The Journal of Performance Measurement, has collaborated with the CFA Institute on the CIPM curriculum, and co-authored the Level II Reading on Fixed Income Attribution. Earlier in his career, he served as Product Manager for SYLVAN at Financial Models Company (now SS&C), where he pioneered one of the first commercial performance measurement systems in the industry.
Today, Claude continues to push the boundaries of performance measurement, ensuring that innovation, transparency, and analytical depth remain at the core of Robust’s mission.
Chris Capon

Chris Capon co-founded Robust Technologies in 2006, bringing over three decades of experience in software engineering and enterprise system architecture. As Chief Technology Officer, he leads the design and development of Robust’s performance and attribution platform, ensuring that every component delivers speed, scalability, and precision at institutional scale.
A pioneer in high-performance financial software, Chris has spent much of his career pushing the boundaries of data processing and analytical efficiency. His expertise spans multi-platform database systems, distributed computing, and cloud-based architecture, enabling Robust to deliver the most advanced performance measurement capabilities in the industry.
Before founding Robust, Chris held senior technical roles at Financial Models Company (FMC, now SS&C), where he was instrumental in building and optimizing large-scale investment performance systems used by asset managers worldwide.
At Robust Technologies, Chris continues to drive innovation through advanced data engineering, algorithmic optimization, and deep integration across cloud and on-premise environments, turning complex financial data into actionable insight.
Sean Smith
Director of Database Software Solutions

Since 2000, Sean Smith has built deep expertise in database architecture, optimization, and performance engineering. After joining Robust Technologies in 2022, he has led the design and evolution of the company’s database layer, ensuring every query, index, and structure delivers maximum efficiency and reliability.
A recognized authority in SQL Server engineering, Sean has been featured over 40 times on SQLServerCentral.com, where his insights are used by database administrators worldwide. His work has been instrumental in shaping Robust’s high-performance data infrastructure, achieving dramatic reductions in processing times and storage footprint across client environments.
Before joining Robust, Sean held senior technical and leadership roles at Aptos, 20-20 Technologies, Monster.com, and Insight Enterprises, where he developed enterprise-grade data solutions and mentored global engineering teams. His career reflects a rare blend of deep technical mastery and architectural vision, making him a cornerstone of Robust’s continued innovation in performance analytics technology.
Julia Guo, FRM

Julia Guo joined Robust Technologies to bring expertise in investment performance analysis, risk management, and data analytics. She plays a key role in advancing the firm’s performance measurement and reporting capabilities through data-driven innovation and analytical precision.
Before joining Robust, Julia held analytical roles in both the public and private sectors, applying advanced statistical and programming techniques to uncover financial insights and optimize decision-making.
Julia holds a Master’s degree in Data Analytics from Western University and a Bachelor’s in Financial Analysis and Risk Management from the University of Waterloo. She is a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals and a CFA Level II candidate.
Yaomi Sun, M.Sc.

Yaomi Sun is a seasoned software engineer and database specialist with over a decade of experience in software development, data analysis, and cloud systems engineering. Since joining Robust Technologies, she has applied her broad technical expertise to strengthen the company’s development, data management, and system optimization capabilities.
Before joining Robust, Yaomi held diverse engineering roles across industries including energy, data services, and healthcare, where she designed and maintained enterprise-scale systems that improved performance, scalability, and user experience. Her work reflects a commitment to reliability, innovation, and client-driven results.
Yaomi holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Lethbridge, along with Database Administrator and Oracle Certified Associate credentials.
